Pet Transfer was started to help address the problem of animals that were on death row at the pound. The majority of these forgotten pets just need a hand to find another shelter or home. The Bay of Islands SPCA covers an area from Port Aux Basques to St. Anthony as well as the Hampton White Bay area. They are currently raising money to build a bigger shelter however until this dream becomes a reality we at Pet Transfer have decided to help out.
To date we have transferred about 96 animals that would have otherwise been euthanized.
Animal Rescue Coalitions finds new homes for abused and abandoned animals
Maritime Animal Rescue is a composite of many individuals from varying animal welfare organizations, such as SPCA's, rescue groups, the Nova Scotia Humane Society and private individuals whose interest is to help animals. Maritime Animal Rescue, in itself, is not a rescue group, rather it is a meeting of many animal welfare groups with the common purpose of helping to re-home abandoned, unwanted pets and ultimately in educating the public about the responsibility and care required when you own a pet.
